Houthis Threaten Escalation Following Aramco Dhahran Strike

Yemen's Houthi rebels have declared plans to intensify strikes against Saudi Arabian airports and energy infrastructure in the coming days. The warning follows a Tuesday night missile attack on the Aramco office complex in Dhahran, which reportedly damaged the executive wing and sparked a fire across multiple floors.

Houthis Threaten Escalation Following Aramco Dhahran Strike

Saudi-led coalition spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Malki confirmed the interception of a ballistic missile aimed at Dhahran, though falling debris struck a residential area. While Saudi officials maintain that Aramco operations remain unaffected, sources indicated the strike reached the top three floors of an executive building, including the CEO’s office. Additional missile interceptions were reported over Riyadh, where falling debris injured four people and damaged 15 homes.

The coalition retaliated with airstrikes on Houthi-controlled oil sites in western Yemen, including the Ras Isa port and facilities in Sanaa, resulting in at least two deaths according to Houthi health authorities. With King Khalid International Airport closed until October 17 following a series of deadly attacks that claimed 18 lives and injured over 300, regional instability is mounting.

President Donald Trump condemned the Houthi actions, accusing the group of manipulating oil prices ahead of the U.S. midterm elections. The administration is reportedly weighing whether to increase American involvement in the Saudi-led military campaign against the rebels.
